Proud stockist of Biomedical Emporium.

The Multiple award-winning Biomedical Emporium is a Proudly South African company. Their primary focus is on the design, development, manufacturing, and distribution of biomedical products for the pharmaceutical, medical device and cosmeceutical industries. Biomedical specialises in the formulation of advanced biological products, cell culture processes and tissue engineering for advanced wound healing, as well as providing an advisory on regenerative medicine.

Their respective cosmeceutical skincare ranges were developed by Biomedical’s co-founder and chief biochemical scientist, Dr Judey Pretorius. The exceptional Dr Judey holds a B.Sc. in Biological Science, a B.Sc. Honours and M.Sc. in Biochemistry, an M.Sc. in Genetics and Molecular Biology, as well as a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, drug design and development. She has also obtained an Advanced Diploma in Dermal Aesthetics.

Through extensive and continued research, she has been able to formulate an innovative line of products that work symbiotically and synergistically to stimulate the skin’s own rejuvenation and repair mechanisms for a healthier, more ageless complexion. Dr Judey incorporates her unique, tertiary tissue-protective peptide technology into the Biomedical Emporium products, providing each product with a unique scientific footprint to provide for the optimal skin architectural structure.

Biomedicals’ products contain the maximum amount of active ingredients at optimal concentrations to work synergistically and holistically on a molecular level to promote a therapeutic response. Intrinsic and extrinsic environmental factors are taken into consideration during the formulation of all cosmeceutical products. Some products are specifically formulated, based on the client or patient’s geographical location, as skin oxidation rates change with exposure to different environmental conditions.

The Maternology range is a scientifically formulated skincare range from pre-conception to mom-to-be. This range is simplistic, easy, and safe to use. The ingredients are rich in vitamins and minerals and cover a wide array of gentle and effective ingredients to treat your skin optimally when trying to conceive as well as during pregnancy.

All products have been held to the strictest accredited quality control testing for product safety and efficacy. No products are tested on animals.

Understanding the difference

Cosmeceuticals VS cosmetics

Biomedical Emporium cosmeceutical skincare products are formulated by the highest expertise of scientists and utilise quality pharmaceutical grade raw materials in all formulations. It also incorporates the tertiary tissue protective peptide technology. This will ensure that medicinal benefits will be obtained once applied to the skin.

Cosmeceutical products

Cosmeceutical products are used to improve and enhance the skin’s appearance by using biologically active ingredients. This group of products work on a cellular and molecular level to be potently effective and safe.

Cosmetic Products

Cosmetic products are for the purpose of beauty or style and therefore merely cover the skin. Cosmetics can keep the skin moisturised and clean, but not much more than that.

Serums VS moisturisers

Biomedical Emporium’s range of serums are light, fast-absorbing and contain high concentrations of active ingredients. These potent ingredients come with substantiated research proving their benefit for skins of all ages. Our serums have a very small molecular structure and therefore penetrates deeper into the skin.

Serums

Serums are formulated to penetrate deep into the skin to deliver key ingredients. Serums have smaller molecules than moisturisers, therefore penetrate more readily and deeper than moisturisers to deliver nutrients to the deeper layers of the skin.

Moisturisers

Moisturisers are formulated to keep the skin hydrated by putting a protective barrier between it and the outside world. Facial cream has larger molecules than serums, therefore skincare creams are mostly used to treat the surface level of the skin. Moisturisers contain a whole collection of ingredients to fulfil various functions in the skin.
